Describe your idea in as much detail as you like. If you’d rather leave the details up to the artist, that works too! Our artists always research the subject of your tattoo if they aren’t familiar with it prior to drawing the design, you’re in good hands!
Keep in mind that smaller tattoos look best on smaller areas (or along edges of larger areas depending on the design).
So a 2″ tattoo would look good on a wrist, ankle, etc vs the center of the upper arm or thigh. The most common tattoo regret is not going bigger!
Give us a rough idea, it doesn’t have to be exact. Saying approximate height in inches works, as does something like: “hand sized”, “palm sized” etc.
Saying medium sized doesn’t give us a good of idea what you are thinking, as medium means very different things to different people.
Including reference photos is very helpful to give us an idea of the look you are going for.
Styles can vary more than you’d think in the tattooing world. We want to make sure we get the correct estimate and your design just right.
For example; photorealism takes much longer than other styles, and “realistic” means very different things to different people.
You can always check out our portfolio to learn more about style names!
If not, no problem! Our administration team can match you up with the artist best suited to your tattoo. You can check out our portfolios if you would like to choose yourself.
All of our artists have done many tattoos in every style imaginable, but they do each have specialties. Every now and then a client comes along with a tattoo idea so unusual/fun sounding that they all fight over who gets to do it!
If you are hoping to get in within the next few days, be sure to mention that.
Or if you live out of state and are planning a visit several months from the time of booking, let us know. We are always happy to accommodate preferred time frames whenever we can!
